Charting a Course for WRP's New Future

From October through December, 2005, the Wisconsin Rural Partners, Inc. Board of Directors has been working to set a course for WRP's New Future. This initiative was spurred by the changing rural development policy and funding environment in which we work. As a result, WRP has a new mission statement:

"Wisconsin Rural Partners develops networks, leadership and voice for rural Wisconsin."

Within our new mission statement are three objectives which constitute the framework for our new strategic plan and which will guide our annual work plan. These objectives are leadership development; voice; and network building and support. The next step for the WRP New Future initiative is to establish an updated organizational structure for the Partnership. Stay tuned as this process unfolds in the first quarter of 2006...

Wisconsin Rural Partners is a proud partner in presenting the Growing WITH Wisconsin Agriculture conference on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells. The 2006 conference focuses on providing resources and ideas to professionals working with farm families on entry and succession issues. It is an opportunity for those working in community development fields to increase their knowledge and strengthen their skills in working with the agriculture sector.
