Announcing WRP's new Leadership Council

You are invited to nominate yourself, a friend or colleague to serve on Wisconsin Rural Partners' first-ever Leadership Council. The Leadership Council is a new facet of the organization, being developed as part of our "New Future" effort. It will be comprised of people who have a "passion for rural community life" and want to be action leaders for our statewide network.

Nominations will be accepted from March 1 - June 1, 2006.

The WRP Leadership Council will:

1. Capture opportunities and priorities for WRP
2. Mobilize action on opportunities and priorities

Nominees to the Leadership Council must agree to:

1. Serve a 2-year term, beginning September, 2006. (Some will be aksed to serve more than 2 years in the initial council so that terms may be staggered).
2. Attend 3 half-day meetings per year. The Council will use these meetings to review rural issues that have been raised by the membership, select issues for the WRP work plan, and identify action steps for Wisconsin Rural Partners. The first meeting will be on the morning of September 13, 2006, with a social event the evening before.
3. Maintain active membership status in Wisconsin Rural Partners (2006 individual dues are $75)
