Getting There

Located along the banks of the Fox River and Lake Winnebago in east central Wisconsin lays a cluster of dynamic communities known collectively as the Fox Cities. In the heart of these communities is our host city, Appleton, population 75,000. See maps.

Madison, WI 90 miles Duluth, MN 329 miles
Cedar Rapids, IA 271 miles Omaha, NE 582 miles

Appleton is served by a Class A airport [Outagamie County Regional Airport - Code ATW] that features more than 60 flights each day by four major airlines: Midwest (formerly known as Midwest Express); Northwest; United; and Delta. Free shuttle service to and from the airport is provided by the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel.

Additional airports within comfortable driving distance include Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, with 100 flights per day, airport code MSN (90 miles); General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, with 470 flights per day, airport code MKE (90 miles); and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, airport code ORD (185 miles).

For those wishing to travel by bus or train, Appleton is served by Greyhound Lines and Amtrak (train service to Milwaukee and thrulink bus to Appleton).

Conference Hotel

Located in the heart of downtown Appleton, the Radisson Paper Velly Hotel is the perfect facility to host the CDS-NRDP Conference. [click here for directions ]. Within walking distance are over 30 restaurants, and abundance of nightlife and unique shopping. Registrants will receive maps and information in their conference packets.

Conference rates at the Radisson are $97 for single, double, triple or quad occupancy. State and Federal per diem rates will be honored with proper identification. Participants are responsible for making their own reservations. Call 1-800-333-3333 and ask for "Community Development Society" block. Rates apply for the evenings of June 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20. The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center is located across the street from the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel.

The PAC is featuring Broadway's The Lion King, with two shows on Saturday, June 16 and two shows on Sunday, June 17.
